Competing on the Olympic team
- Cheng Fei
- Jiang Yuyuan
- He Kexin
- Yang Yilin
For the last two spots it is between
- He Ning
- Sui Lu
- Pang Panpan
- Xiao Sha
I would put Xiao Sha and Sui Lu on the team. Xiao Sha is amazing on beam, and Sui Lu brings a very, very decent A-score on floor. China is going to be extremely ahead of the US in start scores. And two potential 17’s on bars is huge. Of course, only time will tell!

I still believe China will put Li Shanshan in, although she was very inconsistent on BB lately.
I agree, Pang Panpan still has a shot because of her strengths in BB and FX, and newly UB.
We might have a clearer picture after the National Championships to be held on next week.

According to the information I saw, Li Shanshan is not in the mix. I was very shocked. But I agree, she can put a whole point over most people competing on beam.
yes, I think we need to wait until Nationals. And I was more shocked hearing this info because isn’t it a little early to be deciding the team?
Of course, the four locks I would totally agree with.

my team would be cheng fei, jiang yuyuan,he kexin,yang yilin, pang panpan and sui lu. why? here’s is the breakdown

he kexin 5.8 (im actually wondering why she id not show her amanar vault at internal event because shewas also rumoured doing the amanar.
yang yilin 5.8(i hope her injury will soon heal)

sui lu(i dont know what vault she does.)
If he kexin is truly doing the amanar china will have an advantage on the vault because 3 gymnast are doing the the amanar!wow

Chinese national is coming and im sure many will show what they really got.i still really want li shanshan or xiao sha to go over pang panpan because china really needs right now the huge A score from BB because they only have one gymnast with 7.1 and because pang pang is the no. 4 gymnast in UB as well as on the floor.

I agree with your analysis, ilovepavlova. China does have a lot of options when it comes down to its Olympics team.
Basically, China has an advantage in difficulties while the US has an advantage in execution, especially in BB and FX. I am excited to see what will happen in this Olympics.
For the AA gold, I think so far there is no competition… it would come down to Shawn Johnson and Liukin. Although Jiang Yuyuan has the highest difficulties in AA (VT 6.5, UB 7.2, BB 7.0, FX 6.3), her execution scores in BB, UB, and FX are usually not very good.

I agree with you as well. I think if Li Shanshan does well at nationals, maybe they will reconsider. She is the only one to date that was won an event finals medal with a fall. If you can fall and still score almost a 16, why not be on the team???

cheng fei a 6.9 and jiang yuyuan 7.0 on the BB? what was pang panpan’s A score in BB and floor?
can he kexin really perform the amanar?

Yes.
And the national gymnastics championships is right around the corner (starting from May 4th), we shall get all the details of the upgrades the chinese made.
Also, I heard Nastiia Liukin upgraded her UB to A 7.9. Things are getting better and better if that is true.

if yang yilin upgraded her routine from 7.0 to 7.7, what would probably the skills she added?wow im excited.really nastia upgraded to 7.9. she had some problems with her 7.7 so for a more difficult, i donk know. and yes semenova will compete against he kexin and yang yilin in the world cup in china this may. what are the upgareds semenova has?

im also excited with the upcoming world cup in may because semenova will be there! and im sure she will show her rumored 7.6 new routine! and she will be against he kexin and yang yilin! its like it would be a showdown for the olympics!
really liukin upgraded her UB? when she hadt that 7.7 she had some problems so i have some doubts with her 7.9. honestly i think its he kexin the one should make an upgrade because it seems that she can still sqeeze some moves there.
